I'm buzzing with excitement to announce our upcoming focus on preparing our brilliant students for the Local 12 Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Program. As a pre-apprenticeship program, we're dedicated to equipping our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to ace the entry exam and thrive in this dynamic field.
As apprentices, students can expect to start earning competitive wages, with an apprentice's starting wage being a percentage of the journeyman rate. This ensures a fair and rewarding progression as skills and experience grow. By the time they reach the journeyman level, the wage increases significantly, reflecting the expertise and responsibility carried in this vital role.
Our partnership and mission at JTM Academy and the Los Angeles Urban League goes beyond teaching; we're fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the construction industry. We're committed to breaking barriers and opening doors for talents from all walks of life, ensuring they have a fair chance to contribute to and benefit from this booming sector.
