G.R.I.D. Project Work Day

Join us as we continue building G.R.I.D. (Green Renewable Infrastructure Development), JTM Academy's innovative off-grid renewable energy project.

Students are transforming a shipping container into a self-contained solar battery storage and power system that will provide clean, reliable electricity for the community garden and has the potential to support neighboring residences during future expansion. This hands-on project gives participants real-world experience with construction practices, power tools, renewable energy systems, electrical fundamentals, battery storage, and jobsite safety while exposing them to careers in the electrical and renewable energy industries.

During each work session, students will participate in various phases of the build, including framing, electrical installation, solar system components, battery integration, tool training, and site preparation under instructor supervision.
