SoCal Gas Test Prep

JTM Academy’s 12-week SoCalGas Exam Preparation Program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to successfully navigate the SoCalGas hiring process and excel in the utility workforce. Throughout the program, students engage in targeted academic instruction aligned with the SoCalGas Field & Technician Assessment Test (formerly known as the Blue Battery Exam), including core math, spatial analysis, mechanical reasoning, and reading comprehension.

In addition to academic preparation, participants benefit from direct exposure to industry professionals through virtual question-and-answer sessions with SoCalGas Human Resources staff. These sessions provide valuable insight into the employment process, expectations, and career pathways. Students also participate in structured mock interviews to strengthen communication skills and prepare for the formal interview phase. To bridge theory with real-world application, the program incorporates a hands-on technical component in which students assemble and disassemble residential gas meters and construct pressure system modules—offering practical experience that mirrors the work performed in the field. Together, these elements ensure graduates are well-prepared, competitive, and job-ready for careers with SoCalGas.
