Construction Career Academy
Our pre-apprenticeship readiness program is designed to prepare students for successful entry into union apprenticeship programs within the mechanical construction trades and utilities sector. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for two hours, with an extended four-hour session on Saturdays. Over a 2–4 month period and more than 80 hours of instruction, students receive focused preparation to pass both the written and oral entrance exams required for union apprenticeships. Instruction is led by industry professionals with decades of experience training and mentoring future apprentices.

Beyond exam preparation, the program emphasizes long-term career success. Students learn not only how to earn an apprenticeship, but how to retain it, advance through the ranks, and build a sustainable career. The curriculum prepares participants for entrance into trades such as electrician, pipefitter, steamfitter, sheet metal worker, operating engineer, elevator mechanic, and related mechanical fields, as well as careers in the gas and water utilities industries.
